The project consists of the restoration and refurbishment of an isolated farmhouse and group of farm buildings to provide a family home, a short-term holiday let, a music or drama rehearsal space, a studio, workshops and outbuildings. The farmhouse had been empty for eight years and the outbuildings were in a very poor state of repair. The house has been refurbished and extended and nearly all the outbuildings rebuilt or repaired with new uses in mind. A building that was too far-gone to be rebuilt has been turned into a walled garden. Materials for the reconstruction were sourced locally. Heating is via a ground source heat pump located in the former stable and provision was made for future solar panels. The project was awarded a Graham Allen Design and Conservation Award commendation and a CPRE Conservation Award, both in 2012.
