Upgrades to a Grade II listed early Georgian terrace

Volta House is one of Hampsteadʼs more prominent early Georgian buildings. It is a Grade II Listed, five-storey-terrace house built 1720-30. Jonathan Freegard Architects obtained Listed Building consent to sensitively repair and upgrade the building which involved extensive negotiations with the local Conservation Department. The architects even spent a day with a lime mortar specialist mixing exact strengths, aggregates and colours to suit different locations around the building.
